GBIS Funding
What is GBIS?
GBIS, or Green Building Incentive Schemes, is an innovative initiative designed to support and accelerate sustainable construction practices by providing financial incentives for eco-friendly building solutions.
It aims to empower contractors, developers, and homeowners alike to adopt greener technologies and materials, ultimately contributing to a healthier environment and reducing carbon footprints. By facilitating access to funding and resources, GBIS helps to bridge the gap between sustainable intentions and practical implementation, fostering a community dedicated to creating lasting change in the way we build and live.
- The Great British Insulation Scheme was formally known as ECO+ in the consultation phase.
- GBIS is due to run from April 2023 – March 2026 with the energy suppliers achieving a total of over 60 mil NABS over the 3 years of the scheme.
- The scheme will run alongside ECO4 with the same principles to deliver rapid installation of energy efficient measure, GBIS will look at delivering in a wider pool of households in the least efficient homes, including those on the lowest incomes and those in lower council tax band homes.
- GBIS will deliver mainly single, low-cost insulation measures, this will ensure the maximum number of households can receive support through the scheme as quickly as possible.
